Purple Reigns

The colour Purple, forever linked to the late, great artist Prince, has been given a hallowed place in the Pantone Colour Chart.  Officially known as Love Symbol#2,  it has been matched and pays tribute to the superstar’s Yamaha purple piano.  The catwalks and fashionistas are already down with this trend and are pairing this most regal of colours with mustard yellow, turquoise and various shades of green. Match with gold and turquoise accessories for bold expressions of individualism.

Passion Flowers

The ditsy floral fabrics of Summer make way for big, over-size botanicals for those wishing to make a major impact. Alternatively, there are miniature florals for those who prefer a more fragile femininity. Opt for an easy-to-wear Kimono-shape dress, worn solo or layered over everything from jeans to wide-leg pants, or a 1940s-inspired tea dress. Finish with chunky heels or sneakers to bring the look bang up-to-date. And accessorize with pretty sparkling jewels that mix or match.

It's official. Boudoir dressing is no longer confined to the bedroom. The 2016 catwalks were ablaze with silk robes, slinky camisoles, slips and pyjama-style silk trousers. The mood is more sensual than overtly sexy, with plunging necklines, lots of lace and short or floor-length slip dresses teamed with bomber jackets, trainers or ankle boots. As for jewellery, anything goes from subtle silver pendants to big bold statement necklaces and long, dazzling earrings.

On Yer Bike!

As fashion revs up for the Summer season, time to look at fashion’s all-time favourite wardrobe basic – the Biker jacket. The trend that suggests you’re about to hop on the back of a Harley goes forward full throttle, however this season’s biker girl is more sports heroine gone bad, than rock chick groupie. Time to fasten the chrome zip all the way up over a white skirt, mini dress or shorts. Then rock the look by adding tough-girl touches like knuckleduster rings and Hook earrings.

Flash the Flesh!

The current craze to flash your shoulders, your abs or your décolletage is taking over as temperatures rise. So get ready to embrace exposure and make it your own! Alternatively, opt for subtle exposure via audacious cutaways and intriguing peepholes that reveal the obliques, or outer curves of the shoulder. Then all you need to nail the look is a small, but dazzling finishing touch to attract attention – and compliments!

Stripe Me!

Make a fresh start this season. In stripes. It’s a simple, easy-to-wear look that’s as fresh as it is trendy! Opt for sea-faring stripes in all shapes and sizes – especially super size. Choose vertical, horizontal, or a mix of both. This season you’ll find them on everything from ribbed jersey and crisp cotton to billowing silk. For day and night. To add to the look, opt for bold jewellery.

Time to take inspiration from all things Eastern as fashion meets fierce in this season’s Samurai trend. The Kimono is still strong, but it’s sexier, more structured. Often belted. Add big statement rings and one or two cuffs.

Make a Statement

Make a statement with the modern-day knuckleduster! Big, bold and totally unmissable, they’re perfect Summer and Winter. But watch out, you’re likely to start expressing yourself wildly with your hands, while people look on mesmerised!

The office two-piece is set to take over in leisure time, too. Add ankle socks, chunky heels, or the retro charm of a beret for a touch of je ne sais quoi! Jewellery needs to be big and bold - especially the brooches!

Loose Goose! Ladybird Ladybird Brooch Crystal Ball ring Khaleesi Dragon Brooch Jet Square Ring Terry Turtle Brooch

Time to ditch those faithful skinny jeans. The new season’s trousers boast a soft swinging shape, spilling over shoes or ankle boots with a high waistline to create the illusion of long legs. Finish the look with big bold brooches and rings.

The party season doesn't start and end in December, it's also a Summer thing. But al fresco dining, barbecues and garden parties require careful consideration if you want to maintain your sartorial cool. To achieve the requisite level of holiday laissez-faire and glamour opt for Sixties and Seventies baby-doll style dresses or shorts. Alternatively, create a long, lean, summertime silhouette by slipping into a jumpsuit. Add vertiginous heels, statement necklaces and accessories to rock your Summer look!

Pussy Bow pearlie bowtie brooc swinging-bowtie-brooch swarovski_crystal_bow_ring Pussy Bow peter-pan-collar

The old-fashioned pussy-bow has been re-designed and liberated. Think flamboyance and ethereal. Think wide-leg trousers and midi pleated skirts. And if you’re not sure about the fabric version opt for a bow brooch pinned at the neck or on a pocket.

A Coat for All seasons

Models, celebrities and ordinary folks are all reaching for the waterfall coat and layering beautifully! Jewellery needs to focus on hands and ears. Big, bold, Swarovski crystal rings and diamante dangler earrings are the perfect finishing touch.

It’s a classic that you can invest in now - and wear forever! The natural earthy tones are sublime against any skin tone and go with everything. Camel looks especially glamorous teamed with black, white and turquoise jewellery.

Over the past year the trend for just ONE earring has been gathering momentum and now it’s so big, it’s a major fashion statement, given celebrity status by stars such as Angelina Jolie, Emma Watson, model Binx and so many more! Once you get used to this trend, two earrings will seem so old hat!!!

Urban Warrior

The Military look is back with a vengeance and preparing to conquer wardrobes everywhere! Add leather leggings or jeans and combat footwear to complete the look. Jewellery goes big and bold, with a bias for gold.

It's Cool to be a Bedhead

The dishevelled, messy bedhead look has moved from the bedroom to the runways. And the great news is, this laid-back, thrown-together, dress-to-look strategically-messy is a doddle to achieve using the clothes you’ve already got! As for jewellery, time to pile on bangles, rings, necklaces - whatever!

Scarlet Woman

It’s the colour of passion and excitement. The colour that turns heads and makes you stand out from the crowd. Wear it with confidence, replacing your LBD with a sexy scarlet version. Add shimmering scarlet, dramatic black or crystal clear jewellery for a look that’s pure red carpet!

Look Sharp

Designed to be equally at home in a Boutique Bar or City Boardroom, today’s well-cut separates transcend fashion. They are the backbone of your wardrobe and far more long-lasting than any fleeting trend. Team suits with classic pendants, heavy cuffs, Leopard Watches and big, bold brooches.

All White on the Night!

By all means team white outfits with bold coloured accessories. Alternatively, choose jewellery and accessories that works with it, not against it. Gold. Not only does gold add a touch of warmth to the overall look, it also adds a magnificent touch of glamour.

Pure Jeanius

Develop a new street-smart swagger in this season’s denim. Wear with flats or ankle boots during the day and heels after eight. Add knee-length coats and black jackets, topped off with crisp white shirts or Ts. And embellish with gold, gold. And more gold.

All that Glitters is Gold

With gothic glamour flooding the runways and High Streets and a major unseasonal return to the Little Black Dress, the chicest way to add the finishing touch to this year's dramatic silhouettes is with ankle boots - preferably with cutouts - and a dark, decorative ring or creepy companion in the form of a Swarovski crystal brooch. Can’t help with the boots, I’m afraid, but we can help with the rings and brooches. Time to be a drama queen!
